FX grunge

Well this was a surprise... I have shot a couple of tins of pellets and thought I would clean the barrel. I unscrewed the end cap and found this grunge. Quite unexpected...

And yes, the patches I pulled through the barrel came out filthy too.

Keep in mind ST barrels don't tend to keep lead residues in, so they tend to expel them. If you don't clean the end cap after a few hundreds pellets that will happen, it won't affect the performance of the rifle (at least i haven't seen that) but it's always nice to keep the rifle clean
Except the barrel b.t.w, only pull some dry patches though it when you see accuracy going down, ST barrels usually work better when they have a slight layer of lead in them

Other than the fact the residue is ugly, it really doesn't hurt much if anything. Anyone who has shot more than a couple of tins worth of pellets through a Benjamin Marauder, then taken out the baffles for cleaning; can attest to similar residue collected on the baffles. It happens.
