FX gauges compared to Huma, Wika, etc.

A couple of questions for you guys who have done this before. How much of a difference do the aftermarket gauges make on an FX Impact or Crown compared to the factory FX gauges? Right now my FX gauges do not agree with the gauge on my Hassan Spark compressor. I generally go by the FX gauges, especially since they both appear to be consistent, i.e. when they say the gun is filled to 250 Bar the compressor gauge says 265~270.

Secondly, how easy is it to replace the factory gauges? Is it simply a matter of unscrewing them (presumably on a depressurized gun) and screwing in the replacement. Both guns are pretty perfect right now in terms of being airtight, so I don’t want to screw them up for nothing.

Finally, any other gauges that should be considered?

Honestly I have used and compared all three brands (huma, wika,fx to my large XS scuba gauge and found all 3 were off and wound up using a combo of the closest ones. even the larger gauges on the end of the tubes Kalibrgun and wildcat are off a few bar.

Generally I fill my guns to 225bar and shoot them to just before they go off regulator for some reason it allways shoots till the mag is empty, for instance my wildcat has 8 shot mag and I get 5 mags and my cricket shoots 4 (14) round mags before I refill. The gauges on the guns are just approximate psi and a chronograph will let you know when you drop below reg pressure, once you figure that out you almost dont need a gauge's on your gun, just count mags.

+1 on what Sonny said. I also used several brands and came to the same conclusion. Yes, very simple depressurize unscrew and screw in new ones.

Differing by 20psi is very good the gauges I replaced differed by 20-40+ bar

The newest black faced FX gauges are much better than the old ones from what ive seen. I like the looks of the Wika ones the best and they seem very accurate.

Accurate yes, pain in the ass YES. They suck in the cold, the display cover spins, and battery change is a PITA.

Also the thread is comparing 3 analog gauges no mention of digital.

Crown's FX gauges are easily unscrewed, but the rifle must first be de-pressurized.

My FX gauges are quite accurate, so I don't change them for now.

I have replaced the pressure gauge of my Vulcan, very inaccurate, with one of the Huma brand .... Perfect

I am not an expert, but I believe neither Fx, huma, or probably any airgun manufacturer make theire own gauges. What most do is to have someone else make them. And then have them delivered with heire logo printed on the disc. Who the real manufacturer is, I do not know. Wika might make some of them.
