FX Dreamline Tact Compact .22cal (380mm barrel) vs slugs.

Had anyone try to shoot Hybrid slugs out of your Dreamline tact compact .22 cal (380mm barrel) and how does your Dreamline perform with a superior slug liner?

I want a .25 cal but it seems like everywhere are on pre-order now, except for one store has one but it is in .22 cal so I am thinking to get this one and install a superior slug liner in it.

If I remember correctly that the nsa 20.2 slugs worked well but I don’t know if the gun had a slug liner.

I am sorry that I’m wrong about the nsa 20.2 it’s the 17.5 slugs.

I have a .22 compact. Stick with pellets. The gun is not capable of producing the velocity spread needed to make slugs worth while. You will be lobbing mortar rounds in .22 or .25. Not enough barrel length.

but it sounds like if you have less than 500 mm barrel don’t bother with glus

Just found this post its older but i thought i would respond by saying that 90% of shooting i do with the 380 is with slugs - nsa 17.5 at 930fps group well under an inch at 100yds and expand very well on ground sqrls. The 20.2 and 23 also shoot well but ive not spent much time with those yet.

One of the youtuber shot .22 20 grain slugs at 750fps with great accuracy, it can be done. 


I shot the 12.5 grain slugs in my DTC at around 760fps with good accuracy but haven’t had chance to push pass 34 yards.

But a 17.5gr at 930fps with a 380 barrel has to be out of a Crown or something. I can’t get a 18gr pellet to go that fast out of the 380 on my compact. And that’s an almost zero drag projectile.

If the slug aren’t accurate/properly stabilized at lower speed then it’s not the right barrel for slugs to begin with. Superior in 22 should shoot 17, 20 and 23 grain nsa quite well at 750fps. Surprisingly the short 177 barrel shoots the 12.5 grain nsa pretty well also.

Ah yes a crown w/380 - I assumed dreamline could push the 17.5 at 900+-
