Anybody installed a power plenum on their FX compact? I have been searching for one.

The current shroud that comes on the DTC barrel won't allow it, not enough clearance. I have seen videos of DTC's with short barrels that are the same diameter as the 500mm barrels, so that may be something coming that will allow the installation of the PP on a DTC.
Here's a picture that may better illustrate the problem. The PP in installed between the Breech Block and the Tank Drop-down Block. You can see by the length that it would not allow the barrel to seat into the Breech.

Did they give you a part number? I have a good vendor I can contact about cost and availability and he'd be able to tell us if it's different from the Dreamline Power Plenum like I pictured above.

Thanks you! Here is the regular Dreamline Power Plenum Part Number, if it's a different number, then there may be hope! If not, this one won't work with the DTC Barrel with the thicker shroud.

I spoke with one of my technicians and he stated that the Power Plenum will fit on the compact but the barrel will need to be changed out to the shorter barrel to accommodate the Power Plenum. All new Dreamline compacts are coming with the Power Plenum installed on them, but we are in the process of releasing the shorter barrel kits and once those are available, you will be able to purchase the barrel kit through a dealer and install the Power Plenum to fit your Dreamline compact. Yes, that's what I suspected was going to be the case. I have seen videos of the Dream-Tac Compact with the thinner shrouded barrel. Unfortunately, for those of us who have already paid over a $1K for the rifle, I don't really want to pay another $300 - $400 for a barrel kit just to use a $30 Power Plenum. I do have the longer 500mm barrel and can use the Power Plenum with it, but it looks like my DTC will remain Power Plenum-less! They really need to make a replacement shroud with a longer lead-in to accommodate the Power Plenum and then sell that to those of us with the old style barrel at a deeply discounted price!

Or get busy on a lathe. That’s what I did. The gun has been fantastic but if it’s any comfort, the added plenum is not a game changer with such short barrels. You aren’t missing much. Wanting what you can’t have is more the issue I think.

Yea, well some of us don't have have the tools and skills that others here do! LOL! So wanting what I can't have applies more to those tools and skills than the power plenum! I have added one to my Dream Classic, and you're right, it really didn't make all that much of a difference. I see more of an increase just swapping the 320mm barrel to the 500mm barrel! So, yea, I'm pretty much happy with what it is and all it is! It works for me!

Wanting what I can't have? Maybe not a game changer, but for me it's part of the fun to get the most out of your toys. A kit is coming, plus some posters here have already made one using a carbon tube. So it's something that can be had. Nobody said there is a "problem" here.

Nope, the only real problem is my lack of patience! LOL! If they come out with a kit that will allow me to use the Power Plenum, I'll definitely be interested. Just can't seem to justify the $300 cost of another barrel, in the same caliber, just to be able to add a $30 part!
