Fx Dreamline, choose right serial number to avoid problems ?

Ive noticed there is at least 3 version/upgrades of the Dreamline, serial numbers :

* up to 190310 and after

* up to 194000 and after

* and after 0101759 ?



Is the newest ones after serial number 0101759?

Ive read the valve seat was broken often, is that fixed in the last ones?

My Dreamline Classic's serial number is 190539 and I've not experienced any problems with it. My Dream-Tac Compact's serial number is 195879 and I've not had any issues with it either. So, I have 2 of the 3 with no problems. Maybe the issues were just with an isolated few.

you are probably right, then ones with problem is the ones asking on forums like this one.

It is just when you read you remember the "bad parts" of every particular model , I remember the valve seats to being very thin, I think even Ernest did make some comments about this valve seat.... Also I dont know if the valve seat is the same as any other FX Models.. Im just asking, I want to know, even if 9 out of 10 dont have problems, the valve seat could still be to thin..... Im just asking if someone knows if they "upgraded" this part in the most recent ones?

Do we really need to break in a "thin" valve seat? If its to thin, then it is a design that could be better, even if it helps break it in, well I will have to ask a dealer, Im sure the valve seats of the early models Dreamline had this, and for me it will if nothing else feel better if there is a new upgraded version in the latest series.

I have one of the first series of DLs. My valve seat broke after several thousand shots, and being subjected to high reg pressures and a shimmed hammer spring. I blame myself for that one.

To add I have a gen 1 .22 dreamline that has given me no trouble. I think people who had problems with early models were using high reg pressure, which is no longer needed with the power plenum.

ok, thanks, Ive seen that video before, but he mentioned the valve seat is the same in both.

@xyon, ok so maybe the longer valve stem is more sensitive to break?

I cant make any sense of those serial numbers,,,, what is Gen1, Gen2 and so on, Is the 0XXXXXXX the last ones, why the 0 before?

My Dreamline was awesome and shot PERFECT out of the box. It is my third FX rifle and this one was dialed in. Pressure was nailed and we had it the scope dialed in 5 shots at 100 yards shooting <1 inch groups.

I did put it in Saber chassis before shooting it, but nothing appeared to out of order during the install.
