Fx dreamline .177 or AA s410 .177 with regulator

Dissenting view here- the Air Arms is a rugged design and has remained unchanged for a goodly spell. I like classic bolt-guns... But I'll add the FX has swappability and is known to work with JSBs- to make finding The Pellet easier.

Honestly, get both. You can find AA 410s fairly inexpensive, though the way you describe this example it sounds like a specific AA 410.

In your shoes, I'd get the AA 410 first, then down the road, get the FX. At this upper end of PCPs, they are like Lay's chips.

Amen for the air arms- if you're going to shoot .177, IMHO FX are still getting their game together

I've had 3 FX .177's- one was a unicorn FX 400 that I won the 4H California 4 position pellet and .22 postal match with ( I was allowed to shoot the .22 comp with the air rifle as long as it was at the .22 distances) , but it was later disassembled and used by Ernest for one of his creative creations. That 1 rifle would shoot. The other two are/were Marauder-ish accurate. Good, but not championship accurate.

Air Arms shoot amazingly in .177, just ordered a new S510 this week.

BOTH are side lever cocking ....

The AA will be the heavier and more stable due to this. Likely tho the longer gun if a XTRA version with longer air tube / barrel.

Not a big fan of FX being IMO rather fragile spindly built guns for light weight.

In long term toughness and a solid build that will be running many years from now ... IMO no comparison.

My vote for this ... AIR ARMS S410 regulated.

I have an FX Royale 400 in .22, and it's one of my favorite rifles, dependable, accurate, hardly every needs cleaning. But, it's old school, and none of the late generation FX rifles use the old Royale platform with solid ST barrel. I had a Crown, and my observations would mirror Motorhead's comments. Air Arms is a much more robust platform and, I think, a better rifle. But, FX is directing its energy towards the gadgetry that many shooters find appealing.

Obvious truth no one wants to accept. Royale platform was the last simple, reliable and robust.

Im with a few others here when it comes to FX in .177.......I shoot alot of field target and you just don't see them.out there! On the other hand you will see alot of people shooting Air Arms rifles in .177. I'm not a fan of the modular build look of the FX rifles either....for me I'd get a classic looking wood stock Air Arms in .177 before any FX rifle in .177.
