That's a bugger for sure. I think what would bug me even more is the fact that the inletting wasn't cut evenly from side to side. One side appears to be 2 panels thick, the other side appears to be 3 panels thick.

Well you had a chance to inspect it before you bought it and did not have a problem then, if it would have been a mail order I would say yes send it back.

I've had a few stocks with what you'd call a minor cosmetic blemish. I also do a bit of woodworking. Knots are a bugger because they are so dense they won't absorb stain. Did you talk to the dealer about exchanging the stock before going public with it?
