Isn't there some 'hidden' widget on 12 lb guns that needs to be removed or adjusted. I recall seeing a foil covered piece that needed to be removed, then you could adjust it to the rest of the world's specs.

Maybe I'm off base here, but I recall something about it. Perhaps it was just one manufacturer doing that?

I bet what you are remembering is that sometimes they put an "anti tamper" plate in the hole where you adjust the hammer spring tension. You have to drill that out. But what he is talking about it way beyond that.
