FX Crown side cocking mechanism stuck in the back position

My FX Crown side cocking mechanism is stuck in the back position, can move it into the barrel but it won't pull all the way back to cock
What might be the issue? is it the screw that holds the stacked cylinder shapes parts together connected to the cocking arm?
Thanks

What Douger said. Trigger adjustment screw might be your problem. If 2nd stage is set too light sear might not engage to allow cocking lever movement. Had a similar problem last week with my Bobcat. Once I readjusted 2nd stage pull the problem went away. Not at all sure what you mean about the "stacked cylinder shapes". You mean cocking lever handle? That's NOT the problem! Try pulling & holding trigger while HOLDING COCKING LEVER back with your other hand, then slowly moving lever forward. If it doesn't release the lever, it's your 2nd stage adjustment.

Well after practically disassembly the action and while moving the cocking mechanism I noticed that the hammer spring would not come out and figured this was the issue because it should of just fell out with just gravity.
After some prying of the hammer spring and moving the cocking arm it finally let go and the cocking arm went all the way back
The culprit turn out to be a metal fragment off the hammer spring that wedged itself between the hammer spring and hammer interior.

Thanks all for the help and suggestions and Doug off line walking me through!
Now I'm not looking forward to the reassembly

Same problem I've had 3 times, including currently, I'm having with my Maverick!
My Maverick did that a couple times. Both times it was that ^&%!! Linkage between the cocking lever and the operating rod. Finally got tired of it and once I had it set right I used Locktite on the grub screws.
One other time it did it and I found a piece of a pellet (?) in the cylinder for the works for the hammer.
Good luck to you

I think your right. I started the take down on maverick. Pulled bottle &barrel. Decided I'd try to decock. Since the hammer ( apparently) was jammed, I didn't expect that to work. What the heck? She decocked and then repeatedly cycled properly. I surmise that your observation of a pellet shard or other metal burr. I'm going to use it as much as I can for the rest of the year. No problems I'm writing it off to things to check. I sent her in June to FX. tech said it had burr on sear slide area. He filed smooth. ???

I notice the open window on the hammer housing had some burrs on the front of the opening and went into the inside of it with a rat tail file and got rid of a growing hump and smoothed it out.
I got to say this problem increased my enjoyment for the Crown, knowing the gun more clearly in how to break it down and keep it maintained

I wonder if setting everything to max may have contributed to it, 2nd reg at 155, stronger Huma Air hammer spring upgrade, hammer spring screw set to max. FPS at 955-65
Took some 3000 - 4000 rounds to happen though
I have recently Spoke with technicians at utah airguns and they told me that when you max out your settings On your hammer spring That it will inevitably cause the tungsten hammer to jam inside of the hammer housing. And sure as poop that's exactly what happened to me when I went and shot my crown the other day, But luckily my gun is still under warranty and the good old guys at Utah air guns sent me a replacement hammer housing and tungsten hammer for free. To all your shooters out there who have an FX Crown and have installed Your slug power kit be careful to not adjust your power settings to the Max. This will happen to your gun.
