FX Crown Saber Tactical chassis question

I absolutely love it. That chassis is the reason I have a Crown. I’m not a fan of laminate, as I’m always worried about scaring it up. I love that the chassis added more adjustability in the stock and added the rail to move the bipod out further without drilling wood or adding bottle adapters (but I am ok with those if required). Specs from Saber day the chassis is about 4lbs. Never have held both together.

I would have probably just stayed with the Impact, but the Saber chassis gave me everything the Impact needs, but costs tons extra to add. I love the layout.

My Crown is also the best shooting rifle I have owned. I am bad about trading out my rifles or sporting equipment to try out something else, but I’m not sure I could sell mine. It is the best purchase I have made since starting airgunning, and I have owned some nice rifles from several brands.

The ST chassis is exactly what a chassis is for, precision long range bench/prone shooting. It’s not very nice as off hand gun but it’s not designed to be. The laminate and walnut, especially the laminate stock is simply superb off hand stock! They are not not similar in anyways obviously but there is nothing wrong with having 2 stocks or even better 2 rifles a with different stocks. Although I personally dislike slopping bag rider of any kind, I prefer 100% flat bag rider.

this is just my personal opinion, while the ST chassis is probably the best bench stock for the crown the GRS stock is probably best 1 gun stock out of all the crown stocks, it’s simply sublime both on the bench and offhand. BUT crown is one of those you can’t have just one kind of gun……so laminate and the chassis…..and maybe a GRS and maybe one in synthetic if you don’t want to dent your pretty laminate stock…..🤣😂🤣

Corvid_hunter,

I love my Saber Tactical chassis! It is the best accessory purchase for the Crown that I have made. Adjustable buttstock and cheek riser make it easy to get a comfortable fit and proper eye relief from the scope. Folding stock locks up tight(no play), folds smooth as butter(no sloppiness), and magnectically locks in folded position(no flopping open by accident). Add a good quality bipod on the front and there's nothing more solid for benchrest work. The pic rail so far up front gives it a long stance to get a good "grip" on the bench. REALLY "quiets down" any flip/recoil when shooting high fpe. The extra weight/long stance allows you to keep the crosshairs from coming off the target when you pull the trigger.

Arca rail(it has Mlock/Tlocks all down both sides of the arca rail for adding accessories or more weight) on the bottom makes tripod shooting a breeze to get the gun balanced out. The extra weight makes it feel really solid and easy to move without being jerky on the bipod as well:

It is about 4lbs heavier, so I wouldn't want to carry it around in the field all day, unless....

You remove all this:

To get this:

And put a lighter scope on it and change out the bottle to a tube to get this:

7 lbs 7 ounces. Attach a nice single point sling to it and THEN I would carry it around all day in the field. LOL

Stop it man!!! I have my eye on another Crown even though it is laminate, and you are not helping my resolve!!!

Another comment on weight… because it is a bench gun, I do like the extra weight. It helps keep the gun steadier on high power shots
