Fx Crown new style magazine

Hi guys

Purchased a new style Fx Magazine for my Crown. Much better . However after using once the captive retaining nut underneath fell out. The whole magazine came apart, springs , ball bearings the lot. That nut is central to whole magazine. Hope the replacement when it arrives has thread lock on it ! Anyone else with this issue?

Hi again

As a follow up I deal with Krale in the Netherlands. My request for a replacement Magazine under warranty has already been dealt with. Indeed it is shipping today.

That is how all cmpanies should work.

Yes I’ve experienced that nut coming loose as well. The magazines are really easy to work on and put back together. The problem is you can’t tighten it to much or the rotating cover release lever won’t function properly.
I just gave one of mine a thorough cleaning and put it back together with Loctite on the end of the screw. Don’t be afraid to use blue loctite on it. The screw appears to be stainless and from my experience loctite just doesn’t hold as well on stainless. Like it doesn’t “etch” Into the metal like it would on a black oxide bolt.

For a bolt this small (4mm?) I would normally recommend Loctite 222 but in this case 242 should hold better. I would also let it set up over night. I’ve put mags back together and tried to use them right away and every time you rotate that lever to reload it will back out a little each time.

I’m switching the nuts on mine to nylon locknuts. This will also help with being able to fine adjust them.

Another product you may want to check out is Vibra-Tite. I have no experience with it but I’ve heard good things about it.

Have not had the problem. But for what ever reason I turn the wing to the right. Most likely the way I hold the magazine while load. Right to release right to reseat the cover.

Thanks guys will use that Loctite or obtain that nylon lock nut. Now where in Rural France can I get that, ah yes Amazon lol!

That’s a great point. Funny I never really thought about the way I open the mag.

Now I need to reprogram myself. Lever goes 360°. Always rotate right and this should never really be a problem.

Shame I was going to get some Vibratite. Thought it may have other applications , ahem.
