FX Crown MkII Barrel Removal

For an FX Crown MkII, is it necessary to loosen and/or remove the screw in the top of the receiver in the picatinny rail every time before removing the barrel? I have seen this called the blanking set screw. In some videos, this screw is removed and in others only the 4 screws on the side of the receiver are removed with the advantage that the scope remains in place. Please advise the best practice as this is my 1st PCP. Thanks

You don’t need to loosen that screw, it doesn’t hold the barrel, and may have some sealer on it.

Use a soft set thread compound. Blue Locktite would be good. You won’t need very much at all
