FX Crown Mk2 compact 380mm .22

My Crown Mk2 with 380mm barrel tops out at 910 fps or so with 18.13’s in stock form, reg at 125 bar and is very accurate. I’m sure, with work I could get more, but I’ve been using a 500mm barrel instead for more flexibility and am very happy with it. Maxing out my 380mm is louder and a little jumpy, that said, it’s still my favorite while in it’s wood stock (currently in a Saber stock). I’m not yet a good shooter, but can consistently tag 1” spinners at 75 yards in calm conditions with the 380mm.

My Crown came with a 600MM barrel and I didn't like the overall length of the rifle, so I replaced it with a 380MM barrel. My reg pressure is 160 and it shoots 18.1 gr JSB at around 970 fps. and 25.4 gr at 850 fps. I like this and will never change it. BTW, the barrel has a dual transfer port and a Huma pin probe.

the 380 will reach out to 100 plus 150 yards easy with heavier pellets my 380 22 as iv had a few were really accurate, mk2 regs are little lower as the plenum is bigger they are or can be loud depending on your tune 128 reg presure was mine and shot 18gr at 910-930 the shorter barrels dont make it any less accurate than a 700mm

THank you, great information. Funny, some people say the shorter barrel is less accurate, i often woundered how, obviously you need to get the pellet to desired speed and assumed if you could do that then it shouldn't matter the lenght. I'm not really into the slug scene so I was hoping to go as short as possible and have a nice compact accurate pellet shooter out to 80yrds with jsb18gr. By what your saying I should get that

i built my mk2 compact for stalk hunting and shoot jsb 18.1gr at 965 fps

380mm barrel and 300cc bottle.

i get 2 mags worth of shots, great for hunting !!

easly hit a 2" gong @ 100yrds just for fun with nsa 20.2gr slugs

Would you be confident to take shots out to 75yrds. Basically I'm hoping to go 380mm but would like to be able to get good accuracy out to 75yrds, after that I don't care. My dreamline 500mm will hit 3/4 " spinner one after the other with 18gr and I was hoping the crown compact 380mm could do the same. Then I'd upgrade

I have a Crown MK2 that was originally a .25 380mm and it is currently set up as a .22 380mm. It shoots everything I've fed it very, very accurately from 14.3 gr .22 Crosmans to .25 26gr slugs. I have a 90 yard range at my house, and if there's no wind, it will shoot the .22 Crosman domes at 90 yards accurately. It loves 18 grain JSB's. I also have the 500mm barrels in .25 and .22, and I find they are faster, but no more accurate, and for me the trade off for extra length is not really worth it. I also have the arrow barrel for it, and it's amazing. For hunting, I really like the .25, but everything is covered with snow where I live, most of the critters are in hibernation, and with the pellet situation, I am primarily shooting the Crosmans until spring. My reg is at 150, and I just keep it there and spin the power wheel for different pellets and slugs in both .22 and .25.

It is probably the one gun I would keep if I had to sell all my others.

380 to 700 barrel in 22 gives me an immediate 125 fps increase with the 18 JSBs. 115 fps increwse with the 25.39 knock outs.

as Steve Scialli would say......155ish :sneaky:
Nice. I'm running 150 "ish", PW on 16, running 900 with the 18s. At 23 I'm running just over 980.
With that same reg pressure and the 700 and PW on 23, I'm pushing the knock out 25.39s around 995.
Problem is that everything I use the 700, I have to take it off to put the Mk2 back into the case, so I stick with the 380 running the knock outs at 850 on 23, 18s at 900 on 16, all with the same scope zero.
Love it.

Guys, quick question, does anyone know the twist rate of the 380 and 700mm STX liners? I’m hearing 18 and 28. This is for the Mk2 with the dual port and “new”, 24 point HS knob. I’m getting amazing results with mine at 20 yards (that’s the furthest straight line distance I can get in my yard.
I want to put the numbers into Strelok to test when I go out to a friend’s field.
Here’s last weekend, 20 yards, reg 150, 18.13s at 860, 10 shots per group, with the 380.
