Today I was looking at my Crown MKII and noticed that one of the two set screws in the Lo Med Hi adjuster knob was almost all the way out, and the other one was not tight but only needed a little bit to tighten it as it should have been. So I then put the proper size Allen wrench into the center of the knob to check tightness. I turned the screw but it didn’t appear to tighten so I turned it back to the starting position.
Is the screw intended to adjust/tune that knobs function in some way or is something wrong ?

My lo, med high knob only has one screw in the middle could you post a picture
Doh, I forgot to attach photo.
First photo, top view. Second photo shows side of knob, arrow pointing at tapped hole for set screw (one on each side 180 degrees apart).

Back one of them out and see how long the set screw is. They may look like they are backing out, but they could be long enough to stick that far out.

Personally, I like to extend set screw like these to as long as I can get them. This way you get full thread engagement instead of just a thread or two on the smaller ones.
The set screw is 1 or 1.5mm diameter and at least an 1/8” (3mm)long. But that has nothing to do with the center screw on the top.
