FX Crown 50yds

Just getting into air guns, which has been a big learning curve for tuning. Took it out to 50yds today and was way happy with the results. These are 5 shot groups shooting FX 22 cal 

25 grain pellets, 120 bar regulated in 7mph wind.

For some reason the paper your shooting looks to have a soft look to it and wondering if your paper targets had a soft slap sound for you?

The paper target is the biggest challenge to having a quite impact slap

I found wetting the target helps and containing it in a secondary container

@goldwing: that’s a serious pellet trap! I use thick paper towel and put some dots on with sharpie, 100% silent.

Great shooting. Is your Crown the MK2 version? I keep reading that the FX branded 25 grain pellets are doing great in the Crown. I’ve only tried 18 grains in mine but I think I better take a look at some FX 25 grain. Thanks for your post and once again, that was some awesome shooting.

Great shooting Bobwire ; I've never shot the FX 25gr with my Crown , now I'm going to try. What are your settings : HST , transfert port , speed ? Thanks.

@ Goldwing : yes the target paper is , for me , the main noise when shooting . I tried different kinds of paper: kitchen towel paper is less noisy but it tends to tear up, cardboard is good , heavy copy paper is the worst. Using Caldwell self-adhesive peeling targets glued directly on a piece of rubber foam gives best results for me . Trying to make airguns shooting silent is sometimes a long way....

What barrel length? I've been considering trying 25gr pellets in my MK II .22 with the 380mm barrel. Now I know I need to try them.

Barrel is 600 mm, Gen 2, Regulated 120 bar, new style power wheel setting 15 , 857avrg, 5.2 std dev, FX tuner. It was shot off a bench with Atlas bipod and adjustable rear rest.

That 1/2” ARA 100 ring sure seems a lot smaller with a pellet gun at 50y, no? If you’re accustomed to Unlimited Rimfire….I’m surprised you are impressed with pellets.
