I have the hollow FX moderator that came with the gun. Has anyone experimented with making the moderator quieter? I put a hair curler in it but that did not seem to help. Any ideas?
I did this to mine you can hear a difference but not allot. The black stuff is kind of a hard plastic drawer liner and keeps the nylon scotch bright from being blown past the spring and into the pellets path. Some heavy felt material and a smaller diameter spring might do a better job. My Impact was shooting at 74fpe and this stayed put until I got a new STO Gladius moderator.
I use cut springs and cut modified hair curlers and washers in between wrapped in oil soaked scotchbrite then felt like a sushi roll. Similar to BIO but add at least a washer in between to make 2 chambers smaller chamber closest to barrel.
3d printed cone baffles courtesy of another member. And some dense felt in the end. Has the highest resistance to flow of any of my mods. Even better than several with smaller baffle bore sizes. It's also got a 25mm extension (from fx), and is exceedingly quiet.
