mine for a short while, the maverick compact is now wrecking pest birds on my buddy’s property:
Tac compact! She is on her way to her new owner, I will miss you!
Hopefully I’ll have a different FX compact coming soon!

How does this stuff happen to us? I haven't seen my bottle-converted Dream-Lite Compact for a couple of months after being 'stolen' by a buddy!

been tempted with a compact crown build......except sourcing some of the components has been challenging to say the least.

LOL! My buddy was “testing” the dream-tac compact for a while and finally he decided to buy it (I didn’t pressure him at all). Then within couple of weeks I ordered the maverick and he called dibs before I even received the gun. It helps that I told him I’ll take the dream-tac back and he can just pay me the difference. As soon as he nailing targets at 100 yards in the wind with slugs it was done! To be frank it has way too much overlap with my impact as you can see. Good times!

Is this just the stock 380mm barrel and shroud?
I don't know if it's the upright orientation or the lack of a bulky scope but it looks shorter somehow.

It is just the 380mm barrel. It is quite short
As for sourcing parts for one, all you need is a superlight barrel and the short shroud/liner. I have a 500mm barrel I converted over from the 700mm it came with

how well does a second plenum really do ?

On such short barrel the second plenum is basically useless, it might give you couple of shots extra but that’s all. The gun can over power the little barrel easily already so more power doesn’t do squat!
