Well dang, other than here on AGN these have been getting pretty good reviews. So I ordered one a couple days ago. I guess I will see how it works out.
I have had my FX Radar about two years. Initially, I tried a Tripod and placed the unit underneath the muzzle or suppressor. Had very inconsistent results even though I tried a lot of different placements. I.e., moving unit towards end of muzzle, back several inches, etc.
Once the barrel clip was introduced, I used that exclusively with two rubber bands. No more tripod. Always try and center so it is as straight and perpendicular to the barrel as possible.
There are mixed results on this forum on the FX Radar, but if you are not looking for Lab Radar-like precision, it does a pretty good job to help you identify potential issues related to velocity. I can validate velocities with a variety of pellet and slug weights. The portability, ease of use and shot string information on the iPhone/ Android is very good.
Just my opinion, not fact.
