So...I’m absolutely loving the 30 cal x in 700mm. That said, it costs as much to shoot as I expected, but I underestimated how much I’d actually be shooting it. Air isn’t the biggest issue because I have a compressor and a big tank, although it does suck it up fast. But man, I can shoot a tin of pellets at $18 ea in about 30 min. Been contemplating my options. Of course, getting another gun in 22 is one option. A less expensive option would be to get a caliber swap kit in 22 and 600mm. But I’ve worked so hard to tune it up properly for 30. Really the hard part was finding exactly where to set the reg. Is it possible to shoot it in 22 with the reg set at about 149 (assuming my manometer is close) and just turn the hammer spring waaaay down? Is it even possible that it shoot well like this? Will I save a lot of air due to the valve being open less time, or will it still be terribly inefficient due to the reg being technically too high for a 22? Any help appreciated. It’s my first pcp and I hate to change the reg so that I can quickly swap barrel kits n change the hammer spring depending on what I want to shoot that day. If I have to adjust the reg each time then it definitely won’t work for me.
