Well, my situation is odd because I did not make trigger adjustments yet my safety stopped working. I love the rifle, it’s a range gun only and I practice safe shooting principles so not a big deal to me. Some rifles do not even have safeties.

It's not the operation of the safety that concerns me, but the operation of the sear/trigger wheel engagement.

Thanks all. I will tinker some more with this later today and report back. I appreciate everyone’s help here. I’m mechanically inclined around firearms but have done no work on the Boss previously. I’ve had the rifle for a long time and it is superbly accurate, comfortable and quiet to shoot. Other than the safety engagement issue, the very minor air leak is the only other issue I’m experiencing. AofA worked on the more significant leak a few years back and added the Huggett.

I got it working today. Thanks for all the help here. I had to remove the trigger base from the trigger rail (the wedge under the trigger base). There is a set screw next to the hole in the rail. I had to turn that out just a tad. It was in too far causing the rail to make contact with the wheel base regardless of whether or not the safety was engaged. Had to remove the pin on the front a few times to remove the trigger base from the trigger rail and make incremental adjustments to the set screw on the rail. That pin can be pushed in and out by hand.

Ok. Let me try that in a little while. Also, I notice that my safety lever has two distinct end points when moving to the safe position. The farthest position isn’t stable - it wants to click a few mm’s back. See pics below. So maybe that is contributing to the problem. Thanks so much for all your help. 

Maybe you could replace the setscrew with an ordinary allen screw? The head of the screw would then be under the wedge?
