FX Boss Shroud Problem, NEED HELP!

Just realized the factory shroud on my Boss is now a telescoping shroud, slides back & forth & can rotate about a quarter turn. Before I start futzing with it I looked on YouTube but ZERO videos re: Boss (or Royale) shrouds. How does one go about tightening & securing an FX Boss shroud? Pretty sure the solution is simple but wanted to ask "those in the know" before I dig a hole I can't get out of. Thanks

Gerry

The tube of the shroud is glued to the rear cone. The cone has a set screw in it but you have to remove the shroud to get to it. A heat gun may be enough, but i made a few passes with a propane torch to melt the glue and it slid right off. Tighten the screw and re glue and your done.

P.S. I did drill a hole in the shroud to access the screw for removal if i needed to in the future.

Got my popcorn and subscribed to this. Let us know how it turns out Gerry.

Just curious, why do you need to remove the shroud?

Just cleaning, maintenance basically. The air stripper is threaded on the barrel. You could actually screw on a Donny fl if you wanted to. I slid it forward about an inch and added some baffles. Will have room for a larger tank now also.

I guess I've been spoiled by the Royale 400, it never needs cleaning!

Lol! Good deal! Mine started to open up groups after about 1500 pellets went down the tube. At that time, I pulled the barrel, shroud and polished it up. We'll see if it lasts longer this time. Around 1000 right now.
