FX Bobcat .25 (Barrel Shroud Lead Dust) - Where is this coming from??

Hi Everyone!

Got a new FX Bobcat MK2 (.25) that seems to be working great. Getting ~75 consistent shots at 912 (avg FPS). Accuracy is usually good. At this time I have placed nearly 900 pellets through the barrel - but recently noticed this thin LEAD DUST accumulation on the outside of the barrel shroud (near the breech) on the top and bottom portion. Is this common?

This does not appear to be translating into performance issues - just wondering if this is expected or do I have a gasket/o-ring that needs attention?

Thanks!

Thanks 30cal, that was my line of thinking as well (e.g. some holes placed near the end of the shroud (breech end) to improve air dynamics). I searched existing shroud images to see whether these holes existed - no avail. Since the gun seems to be operating well, I don't have enough reason to pull it apart and I'm just too chicken to disassemble because of the horror stories I have read about POI shift, disturbing another "previously working" component, etc. For now, I can live with it.
