FX Fx barrel liner for notos accuracy?

I got the whole kit , 22 caliber 380mm FX kit . A little more expensive but I didn't want to peace it together, Not much difference at 30 yards but at 50 yards maybe a little more accurate, I always thought the FX barrels were over rated anyway,,
Now if we could put a CZ barrel on the Notos . I am 100% sure we could see a difference .

Thanks, at approximately 260.00 to buy the whole kit, l would expect alot better than the oem barrel. You saved me 260.00. Thanks again

FX liners have a solid reputation in regards to accuracy when using pellets. You are not going to see accuracy guarantees across the whole industries with a few exceptions. There have certainly been cases where FX liners will not shoot well and have machining errors but those are rare. The Notos are pretty accurate out of the box though, so if I were in your shoes I would be hoping for more velocity with the same accuracy.

If you are expecting “a lot” better, then your Notos barrel must shoot like crap. So maybe the $260 is not a bad investment.
Yea, l have 2 barrels. One throws a LOT of flyers and has almost zero resistance when pushing pellets and no noticeable choke. The other one is showing promise but haven't found THAT pellet yet. Not willing to throw 260.00 at a maybe.

To be fair an FX liner is more like a "pretty darn good chance" not really a "maybe". If you are having accuracy problems with your stock Notos barrel an FX liner is going to be better, but at some point it makes more sense to buy another pcp instead of spending hundreds to fix the cheap one.

Good point. I have other pcps that shoot great. Just trying to get the notos to be a good shooter. It's getting close with the good factory barrel. Some different pellets and adjusting fps, l think. Will work. I was just wondering if the fx setup was worth the investment.

I put a FX liner from my stash on my Zelos. Very happy with how it shoots. I’ll give you some food for thought while you are trying to make a decision. First, if you get a bad FX liner that doesn’t perform great with normal pellets, you are extremely unlucky. So unlucky that you almost can’t get that mad. It was just your day to get hit by a turd falling from a migrating goose. I’ve bought enough liners that I could open a wind chime business. Never got a bad pellet shooter. But…….some can shoot better than others if you are extremely picky. You’re lucky, the Notos platform will not let you detect this. The drawback of a FX liner is weight. It’s lighter. And this is something you will notice even with a Notos. The gun will just be a little more active in small calibers and a lot more active in larger calibers.

My Zelos is a .22. There is a difference when jumping back and forth from a 500mm FX replica system to a solid 500mm barrel. But the accuracy from the FX liner trumps the little more stability from the solid barrel. Good luck.

Thanks for the info.

I noticed, on Utah airgun site, the fx barrel liners have no guarantee on accuracy and are not returnable. So if you get a dud, will fx be of any help? How accurate are the liners? Anyone got a bad one?
All good here, I got the 500mm and I love it, im doing 80 to 100 meter shots, pretty darn accurate. Barrel kit from c88 and liner from Utah, almost 100dllrs cheaper that way. Keep in mind the noise will drastically increase, if oem was a 3/10 in 100 being loudest, with fx barrel it will go up to 7/10.

What are you using to tame the noise down?

I got a custom cnc aluminum moderator, nothing fancy, its the same diameter as the barrel itself, brought down from a 7/10 to probable a 4.5 or 5/10

Anybody ever watch the "sub 12 fpe airgun" youtube channel? He took a FX barrel off at least one airgun due to poor accuracy and replaced it with a solid barrel. But I'm sure it was not made by SPA.

I've shot one 200 on the 30 yard challenge with a CZ barrel and 3 with two different SPA barrels. I think they are likely more variable than FX. I just do not like it that the FX barrel is so thin. It is necessary for their method of rifling but it is not the normal way to optimum accuracy. If you go to a PB benchrest match you are going to see a lot of really thick barrels. But if you go to an airgun benchrest match you'll see some FX barrels, no doubt. I have 5 SPA airguns but no NOTOs. The worst of my SPA guns has shot a 196 on the 30 yard challenge, however. I think their barrels tend to be pretty good. I bought a different barrel for my P35-25 from SPA but it is about the same as the original that gave me a 198.

Recently I discovered my Bullshark in 22 and my P35-22 REALLY like AEA pellets. Might be worth a try in a Notos. I also find H&N pellets tend to shoot better than JSBs in my SPA guns.
