FX AMP Regulator vs. Huma regulator

Hi all, 

I was wondering what are the differences between FX’s reg and Huma’s. Here’s a list of questions I have on them:

1) is the Huma reg more consistent than FX’s AMP reg?

2) Does the Huma reg give you more power over the AMP reg?

3) What other benefits does the Huma reg give over the AMP reg?

4) Is it worth paying 100$ and possibly voiding your warranty by changing out the regulator in your FX gun?

I've had my Impact over a year now and been super happy with the AMP haven't even considered putting a Huma in. With the Crowns I think some of them had bad regs and would do the upgrade, I don't think it makes any more power in the Impact. Might in the Crown.

There the same if you get a properly working AMP. Unless you want to blow $115-$130 for no reason and NOT have FX WARRANTY it for you.

Installed 1 in my gen3 impact with amp reg and notice better consistency and accuracy but hated that there is no allen key adjustment, kinda of a pain

That pretty much describes the two company cultures. You can have something easy to fiddle with that doesn't work real well, or something that offers solid performance. Tune it, then don't mess with it.

Or just have multiples of the exact same gun same calibers in various different tune states and leave them ALL BE that is- set tune once then forget it. PLUS ONE BONE STOCK STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX to see how foolish you were spending all that extra money for nothing kinda like me sometimes. Can't leave well enough alone and try to re-engineer what the factory meant it to be just because I think im smarter than them.

i put the huma reg in my dreamline for the extra plenum volume, plus the amp reg started whistling a bit, and seemed to creep.

i plan on keeping the amp in my wcIII as long as it doesn't make funny sounds...

How about like DARTH VADER WITH ASTHMA when shooting RTI brand guns? Can you post a video on that whistling sound? Is it like a Hamster whistling?

Not having heard a hamster whistle, I may not make such a comparison. 

It almost sounded like something spinning, and slowing down quickly. I don't have it installed (and I am not taking apart my DL to re-install it to test because its shooting perfectly right now!).

Hi to all!

Im trying to solve a doubt...

How can i get a reg pressure above the factory FX regulator recomendation limit (150 bar) on a MK1 Impact Gen 2?

Do i need to install a Huma regulator or a different reg? Do i need to replace some parts to match a MK2? can i do it? or this limit of 150 bar applies to all impacts?

I have fx impact gen 3 amp reg. It creeps about 5 bar over night and 10 bars if leave for few days. Switch it to huma reg. Doesn't give any power increase but creep did go away. So if your amp reg creep overnight. Might be worth it to upgrade

Is it common for the AMP regs to creep? I’ve just heard so many people with Impacts replace the reg because of all sorts of weird problems.

It is not a normal occurrence for ALL FXs. You can opt to have a defective AMP regulator replaced under FX WARRANTY so you aren't forced to spend any put of pocket money for a HUMA.

my impact X was great for a while, but then again i dont get to shoot very often either. its like 3 years old now if def dont shoot like it use to. speeds are so not consistent. i am putting a Huma in it now.

Huma regs have a much faster refresh rate. Great for speed shooting.

I recently purchased a Huma reg for my Maverick. I think I got a bad one. It doesn't seem to be anodized and the recharge rate seemed slow.

I've found the stock FX regs are superior, especially when polished.

Being frustrated by a product that doesn't work is perfectly understandable. However your warning to "stay away!" isn't strengthened by impugning characteristics like an aluminum construction or a floating seat that function splendidly in some of the most successful airguns in the industry like Daystate and Thomas.
