FX AMP Regulator Guide

Thanks yalel. I was thinking the same thing until I actually ordered and received the newer version of the Huma regulator. They made another version to fit the MKIIs and later Wildcats with AMP regulators.

The FX Wildcat MKII AMP version has a hole drilled through the air tube so you can access the regulator's externally adjustable screw. That means the spacer must be of a longer length. There is no way around this.

The spacer's length supplied for the Huma AMP Wildcats is different the spacer's length supplied for the Pre-AMP Wildcats. The AMP Wildcat spacers are of a length that will position the regulator in such a way that the now unneeded hole drilled through the air tube lines up at a point between the regulator's two o-rings. This seals the hole. If the shorter spacer was used you'd never be able to fill the airgun because there is now an unsealed hole in the high pressure side of your air tube.

Looking at the attached photo of the newer AMP-Replacement version of the Huma regulator and spacer, it seems logical to conclude there will be little to no air reservoir loss. The Huma regulator section is so much smaller than the AMP regulator section that the total length of the Huma regulator and spacer is about the same as the AMP regulator and spacer. The Huma is actually a little shorter in length but has the smaller diameter adjustment thing protruding. So you get the same reservoir volume while also gettin a HUGE increase in plenum volume.
