FX Airguns was proud to be a sponsor of the annual Pyramyd Air Cup and honored by the competitors at the event that decided to put their trust in our company by shooting FX rifles.
One of the annual events held at the Cup is an event called the Gunslynger. This is Pyramyd Air’s speed event where competitors shoot head to head at 16 silhouette targets in rapid succession. Targets are 1/10 scale NRA metal targets, placed at 10, 25, 40 & 55 yards respectively. The PCP class gave contestants the option of either single loading their rifle or starting with an unloaded magazine that would then need to be loaded once the match started.
In an intense turn of events, Matt Dubber accomplished something that has never happened before and that may never happen again. For the third time within a year, he claimed yet another speed shooting victory. This time by beating an impressive field of shooters in the Gunslynger PCP division. Not only did he win, but this means Matt Dubber now has the Grand Slam of speed titles by winning the speed challenges in the last three major airgunning events held (having previously won the Speed Shooting event at the RMAC in June 2019 and last years Speed Silhouette event at the EBR).
His win was hard fought as to win the event he had to beat such opponents as Justin Jacobson (of Utah Airguns), Thayne Simmons, and his father Val Simmons. Side note for those that are not aware; the Simmons father/son combo are responsible for the development of the Side-Shot Magazine and its speed loading abilities that shocked the crowd with its ability to be quickly loaded.
Other new innovations were also on display as Matt, Justin (who finished 4th), Thayne and Val (who finished 2nd) put on display a new aftermarket pump action addition for the FX Impact made by Sabre Tactical. Certainly the “thump thump” their opponents heard as these pump-action equipped Impacts quickly knocked down the silhouettes, added to the intimidation and adrenalin that was felt in the air.
Congratulations to all the winners of the Gunslynger event and to the staff at Pyramyd Air for putting on a great event at this years Pyramyd Air Cup. We hope to see you all next year.
