Tuning FWB 300S Trigger Damage and Maintenance/Tuning

Greetings,

In 2016 I purchased a left-handed FWB 300S. At the time the stock was shipped separately from the action. Somehow, probably when it was stuck in customs for 3-4 weeks, a plastic part of the trigger mechanism was damaged, as you can see in the close-up photos below. At the time the gun didn't seem impacted at all by the damage and I didn't feel like dealing with trying to get it fixed or return the gun/etc. So I just let it go and didn't even mention it to the seller. A year or so later I stopped shooting for the most part, but lately I have been shooting my other airguns pretty regularly.

The gun still seems to shoot fine but I am by no means an expert gunsmith or a skilled competitive shooter so I could be missing something. I would like to get the trigger fixed or replaced whether or not its actually causing a problem, but I don't really know if its possible given the age of the gun and the rarity of the components. I am also going to be refinishing the stock soon. So I would like to get the rifle in as nice a shape as possible.

Additionally, I don't really know if there is something else I'm supposed to do in regards to maintenance before I start shooting it again. It has been sitting unused for probably
4 years. I have fired it a few times and it seems great.

If anyone can help or point me in the direction of someone who could I would be grateful. Thanks.

Not sure I see any damage, just a trigger shoe...if you looking to get it serviced try Dave Slade in Tennessee, one of the best there is. I believe it is AirgunWerks. You might try looking up or posting for a copy of the mfgr owners manual, there should be maintenence instructions. I have the RWS version of that rifle, just a drop of oil on pivot points and a drop or two of chamber oil every thousand rounds is all that is called for. Not sure if yours is the same or not... They were very popular rifles, someone has an owbers manual out there that could share the info with you.

There is definitely damage. The part I circled is a blade of metal that's supposed to be covered entirely in plastic, but on the left half in the picture you can see that the plastic was broken off and the metal is showing. I'm not sure what this part is called. Thank you for taking the time to respond and make a recommendation. I'll check out his service.

That's the trigger carrier. They get broken fairly often and easily. There used to be replacements floating around on eBay, but I haven't bought in a few years.

If the trigger blade itself is still tight, I wouldn't bother with replacing it. The part that is broken will only cause you to not be able to slide the trigger all the way forward, simply for personal preference adjustment.

DO NOT put any kind of stuff through the transfer port. It's not needed, and will do more harm than good.

If it's been resealed in the last 10 years or so, it should be just fine. The original piston bumper will crumble and blow out in chunks. If you look through the transfer port while cocking it about half way, you'll see the bumper. If its blue, green, or red or any other color but off white, it's been replaced and it's set for a long time.
