FWB 300S- The King of Springers

I don't have much to say other than this. This is my best 25 shot BR target at 25M with my FWB 300S.

Actually, this is the King of springers. It says so in its name. Diana 54 Air King. Ha ha! Just messing with ya!

That's some fine shooting there! I enjoy my FWB300S. I just don't enjoy it as often as I should. It likes the AA 7.87 pellets through it.

Last I remember, mine was shooting those pellets at around 610-15.

I love showing this off! Here is Nate with a five shot group at 50 yards on a calm day.

Nice shooting! You gotta love the calm precision of the FWB 300 rifles.

Mine is scoped as well and I see similar scores when benching at 25 yards. My 300S shoots JSB 8.44 domes in the mid 600s and I find that to be a perfect power for pesting sparrows and starlings around the bird feeders. As your target confirms - head shots at 25 yards are no problem if the shooter does his part.

Cheers!

No argument here. I think a fellow could argue with a straight face that when you consider it all - quality, precision, finish, looks, accuracy, trigger, long-term durability - this is the greatest spring-piston air rifle of all time.

Going off on a tangent here, but one of my favorite details is the conical breech face, which reduces the power-robbing long transfer port seen in most springers, to basically zero length. This requires that odd front piston bumper to regain some cushioning effect, but in return you get: a the weakest possible spring for the desired power; a simple light recoilless "sledge" design; and oh yeah, a 600+ FPS rifle that you can literally cock with your little finger.

Here's my current favorite example, a fun shooter (if collector's nightmare) featuring a Junior action (short barrel with no weight sleeve) and a rare 300SL stock (bought in kinda sad shape, but beautifully repaired and refinished by Doug Phillips). My only complaint with this air rifle...is that it makes me realize I might not need any other air rifles!

Once I got my first 300S I knew they were special although I almost ripped the sidelever off being used to magnum springers. When people speak of their modern economy rifles as being great/the best I wonder if they have an idea how fine these FWB rifles really are. Hoping at some point to add a mini I have found some really nice other models so far.

I've owned lots of the 300S, THEE best most accurate Air Rifle out there ...for A springer. I wish I'd filmed it A couple years back, I took A 300S and fitted the -20 droop base .used Burris signature rings( thats all I use on springers) to drop the scope even more and sighted down the 22 silhouette Range for the Rams. 107 yds, 100 meter. It was a calm morning ,watched the flags and started dumping the Rams. They went over slow, but went over. My Buddy on the spotting scope was cracking up! Couldnt believe that gun was lobbing the pellets that far . Of the 8 FWB 300s I had, have sold them all off but my Pristine Tyro for my offhand practice. Just to share with you. Pete in Montana
