In case it will help, here is a photo of the AHG 9758 sight mounted on an Anschutz having an 11.02mm wide dovetail. This is an 18mm diameter sight with a height from base to center of 22mm. The 22mm diameter sight would be a little taller. Gehmann and Centra advertise front sights to fit current FWB, but I don't know if they would fit your rifle or not. In any case if you can't find a stock sight to fit, I would think it possible to open up the dovetail on the 9758 to fit your rifle. I would remove the sight base from your rifle, and take it to a competent gunsmith along with the new sight and have him machine the sight to fit the base. This is bread and butter type work for a gunsmith, and should be able to be done for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the image and information. From the looks of the cut on the 9758 front sight I can modify it with a straight end mill in my small 30's era horizontal mill if needed. I'd like to stay with a 18mm sight as I have inserts already.

What, you have a Haas? Joking. I haven't used a horizontal mill since around 1980. It was used for face milling of heads and such, slotting and keyways. Probably the same vintage as yours. Did a good job on the heavy work. Be sure to show us your new rifle once you get it all fixed up.

It's here! Not pristine but not bad either. It'll need to be taken apart cleaned and resealed, I have everything to rebuilt it, so no problems there.

I found a front sight and springs, Neal Stepp had everything I needed. I installed the sights and springs this afternoon and after 12-15 shots I ran 10 shots over the chronograph. It averaged 576fps after the spring change, with the old springs it averaged 506fps with the same 8.02 grain pellets



This afternoon I sat down and shot it at 10M, front rest and on my hand in the rear. At this point it has about 80 or so pellets through it. I think it's a keeper.
