FWB 300S Cost to Rebuild and what to look for when buying used

I found a FWB 300S a guy at my gun club has, and may consider selling. The guy has had the gun for years bought it used from Beeman in San Rafael years ago. I haven't seen the gun but he said it's in good shape but shooting around 450 fps. Not knowing much about these guns I might take a chance on it, depending on the price.

What should I look for?

How much would it cost to get it rebuilt completely buy a professional? Doing it myself is not a option!

How much would you pay for a used FWB 300S that needed rebuild?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends SO much on the model and overall condition, prices for the Running Boar and Universal can be double that of a standard. (for the rifle price that is, repair price should be the same)

Cost if part is pretty much 30$ for piston buffer and breech seal , and spring is about another 25 for a single spring ( usually a lil faster and quiter ) or 40-50$ for a double spring set , sometimes but not ALWAYS slightly more accurate. I know a Dude who made some videos that walk ya thru how to rebuild one . If he can do it ANYBODY CAN !!!

Thanks Joe, saw the video might give it a try myself. Have you ever seen the compression tube damaged ?

Man, you know a lot about Springers!

300's aren't hard to rebuild, it can be done for less than $100 for everything. A full seal kit with FWB parts can be had for around $60 on e bay and FWB springs are available from International Shooters Service for less than $40.

I tried the single spring in mine and didn't like it, the rifle was buzzy and IMO didn't shoot as well as the double springs. It was a little faster though.

I replaced my piston buffer and the whole job was easier than I expected. YouTube has some great videos.

Be aware though, tiny parts have a way of flying out of your grasp and disappearing into the carpet and I expect some of those parts could be hard to replace. Don't assume you can just go online and buy something if you break it or lose it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the spring info and parts price. I'm just taking a wild guess I'm thinking to send the gun to a professional for a complete rebuild and trigger tune polishing and deburr of all parts with shipping would cost $300.00 to $350.00. My labor is not free even if I did the job although it should be considering I don't know what I'm doing. This is one time I'd rather pay to get it done right so I will know what my total cost for the gun will be after all is done. I don't want to have more in the gun than it's worth when it's done, I've done that more times than I can count.
