"Kitplanenut"I've been watching Champchoice.com. Someone mentioned earlier they had the FWB-124 at a good price, but they were waiting for stock. They now have them and the price is 570.00. That's a steal for that gun. Keep trying to convince myself to order one, but I already have one. If your in the market for a springer, they are a GREAT gun.
I assume you mean the new CURRENT rifle made by Feinwerkbau. It's called the "FWB Sport" and is totally different from the old "FWB 124" that everyone but 30cal is referring to, LOL

Everything I've read about them was pretty uninspiring. Have you had any issues with yours? Hows the trigger?

Nah it's a totally different gun. The piston is a bigger diameter, so it's built for more power. The trigger is supposedly better, but still not Rekord or CD grade as far as pull weight goes. They did manage to improve the breech lockup from the weak ball bearing type of the 124, to a more robust chisel style (like a Weihrauch).

But they kept the goofy scope rail that requires special mounts to keep the scope mounts from sliding. A regular stop pin will chew it up, just like on the old 124 or a 300S.

So basically they made it bigger, improved it ever so slightly in a couple areas, left some of the goofy points, and wanted a super premium price for it. At the original $900 price tag, it was the most expensive break barrel that I have ever seen.

And it still twanged and smoked and did all the springer "bad stuff" right out of the box.

I'm sure it's a great gun once sorted, but I just can't help but think it can't be much, if any, better than a tuned R1 or R9 for a lot less.... and the FWB is only in .177 caliber.
