Anyone ever chop and thread the barrel on a FWB 124? I'm thinking I will do it if I can find someone that can do it right. I know it's not done to fine old guns like the legendary 124 but I'd like to get it done.
But if you insist on butchering a fine vintage heirloom that would be worth a lot more $$$ left untouched then John In PA would be the best man for it. BTW DONT DO IT!!! YO!
A Tasteful custom job will be worth as much or more. And no worries there's Plenty of them out there. They're Not rare. What would it be like if all the 28- 32 Fords were left stock? And what's a stocker worth? Less.
Are fwb barrels choked?
124 barrels are a bit rangey and easy cocking. Hanging a moderator on the end is just too looooong. Odd
DO IT! Lot's of guys would buy that if resold. As long as accuracy is unaffected.
I hope you find the right smith.
This is what I'm thinking, I've never seen a FWB 124 carbine with a threaded barrel. With a short LDC that would do away with the crack sound the 124 would be a sweet shooter, as it is too loud and too long with a ship on mod. A FWB 124 carbine with threaded barrel that shoots good should be worth much more than a standard.
7178735128 John Thomas in PA he has the equipment to cut and re-choke the barrel. He is THE BEST if you're an accuracy nut such as myself he got my gun shooting 1/4" groups at 50 yards consistently. Very nice fella! YO!
