Fusion 10x gen2

Gamo makes as solid of a gun as Crosman (I own and shoot both), and I like the trigger and fit/finish of the Gamo better than the Crosman. Both of mine--with the right pellet, since they are both very pellet picky--are very good shooters; but neither shoot as laser-like accurate as my Weihrauchs. My Gamo took nearly 1,200 pellets to break-in; my Crosman, less than 300. Both can give me good results.

HIgh FPS air rifles can require a lot of practice and awareness of how you're holding the gun. Don't get frustrated; just practice. Start humbly at 10 yards and then keep extending out. Now, the quality of the pellet can really make the difference, so be sure to ask others what they're shooting. My .177 Swarm loves any pellet from 8.2-8.64. It hates anything less; I don't shoot anything over 8.80 given my context.

Have fun, be safe, and remember--your first gun is, just that.....!

I’ve had good experiences with the 4 Gamos I’ve owned. Can’t say the same about Benjamin break barrels in similar price bracket. Right now I have a preference for underlevers but that’s just my preference. You might want to see if you can get a GRT trigger upgrade. I got the GRT 4 just installed, haven’t used it yet but I can tell it’s going to be an improvement. As someone recommended to me on my post below, Gamos scope mounts aren’t the best. The guy told me his Gamo mount came loose and groups went wild, I’ve had the same experience, I’d rather have a “poopty” scope and great mounts then an amazing scope and poopty mounts. I’ve never disliked a Gamo scope, I’ve even been able to very rough estimate distance with their AO. If you want to tinker... I’m not sure you’ll want a stronger spring. Maybe a down tune. JM springs and seals, I’m having to buy one myself. Generally people take the gun apart, clean off the gumps of oil, put silicone chamber oil on the seals, airventuri moly on the metal to metal contacts. Please post how your shot groups are. Also it’s important to buy several types of pellets. I always have JSB RS shoot amazing even at a little distance dispite the lighter weight. HN FTT pellets work for me too. If you want maybe some heavier ones. If you want to get real serious maybe some JB bore paste down the barrel one time off the bat. Is lot of guys on here love their various springers. HW has a golden reputation as well as all German airguns. Some stand by their hatsans. Some Chinese. Not too many Gamo guys I suspect primarily due to them not being as esoteric to us eccentric springer folks. I’d just shoot the crap out of it and research things you’ll want. More power isn’t as important imo as spending money on a moderately priced chronograph. A chronograph is a must have for us as I feel it’s good to monitor the health of your gun and also a true understanding of what your FPE or FPS is per pellet.
