Funny, Bizarre, Outrageous, and Exaggerated Reviews (ongoing thread)

I read a lot of AGN posts and I read a substantial amount of airgun and airgun accessory reviews. At times members post about airguns and accessories that I am unfamiliar with. This leads me to read more reviews. On occasion I find a funny review or one with incredulous claims. I posted a screen shot of an ammo review last year that I still read for entertainment every now and then (here's a link to that post https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/comical-slug-review/).

This evening I thought, why not create an ongoing thread where we can post links and screenshots of these funny and strange reviews? So here it is. I was reading up on some Crosman products this evening after reading through another thread and stumbled into the "sale" tab. I clicked on a bargain springer bundle and what did I see? The following review...

Not sure if many members are interested in this sort of thing, but if you are post what you find for days some of us could use a pick me up.

Always take reviews with a grain of salt even from the big guys. One who I will not name always comes to mind as it doesn’t matter spring or pcp but accuracy is always one hole and the other part of the review I have never ever seen a target missed. Little hard to imagine.

I'm 100% sure that being a citizen of South Africa grants you the ability to shoot gnats flying around a monkey's butt a 300 meters with any air rifle no matter who's sponsoring you. Must be against the law to shoot paper targets in SA though.

I normally read the more negative ones first.

1.) They are normally the funniest.

2.) They are normally from...well, less than competent folks.! Speeleng is al over the plac, and many times, you can't mak tails or shoulders of the kometns.

Pretty difficult to take the word of a person, that won't even let the Microsoft "spell correction" fix the speeling...BEFORE hitting submit.

Then I just do a hit and miss of the more positive posts. Just like YouTube. While I have the few guys that seem to make the most sense that I listen to first, I also watch others to see what they have to say.

Like today. I watched a video from a very competent reviewer. He liked a particular red dot sight that I've been curious about. He listed of the things that he liked, a couple of so-so things. He did his tests (all passed). Then I watched a guy that absolutely "hated"...the same sight. I watched/listened to "most" of his list of reasons. I got to the point, where I couldn't take any more useless nonsense, and left. But...yeah, I did try to listen...

Man says he was a military marksman and the Vortex Hog Hunter was a no-go...

...but a lotta spinger aficionados love this scope. I wonder if the reviewer utilized his warranty. Y'all think it was the scope or the shooter?
Has to be the scope. He even rested the rifle on a surface! Couldn't be the $10 no-name rings. But I salute him for wasting 2 boxes of ammo. That took stubbornness and fortitude. I would have started at 25 yards, but I'm not an Army truck driver - I mean Marksman.

Funny side story: I earned an Expert Marksman ribbon in the Air Force and never saw a scoped rifle. If I remember correctly, you achieved "Expert Marksman" by hitting a man shaped target 20 out of 25 times at 50 yards. So, basically, if you can hit paper 80% of the time and manage not to shoot anyone else in your flight, you are an expert (according to the Air Force).

Actually, I just looked it up and it was a little tougher than I remembered. 35 out of 40 shots at 25 meters with varying sized silhouette targets, shot standing supported, kneeling supported and prone. Looks like pistol would be much easier to get the expert ribbon, but we didn't shoot pistols when I was in basic. Probably limited to officers and air crews.

The comments on this FX Crown review on Pyramyd Air yanked a few chuckles out of me. Read the review and look at the rating the reviewer left.
