Fun morning shooting pest birds- edit- and groundhog

Had to get up early and make a trip to town so I took my Veteran along and thought I would try out a farm I hadn't been to in a while. It started out storming with rain, thunder and lightning but I sat in my truck and waited for it to pass. Glad I did as I had a great morning shooting pest birds. Went thru 80 shots and managed to get one pigeon(only saw two) a bunch of starlings and sparrows.

I gather up a few close ones for a pic but the pigeon fell out in a corn field so I couldn't retrieve it. I probably shot 60-65 all together in a two hour span.

The shooting died down here so I went to the farm with groundhogs and just like the landowner told me, the groundhogs were in the old pumpkin patch. I saw three of them but they were all behind some old machinery and wouldn't give me a clear shot. Finally one came toward me in the open at 38 yards. I hit him right above the nose and back into his head dropping him instantly. The other two hurried to the den and I didn't see them again. Then I went to the other side where I had seen one before and sure enough he was sitting on the old Bush hog. I ranged him at 77 yards, dialed it on my scope , settled on the side of his head and let it fly. I hit him a little low in the neck and he made to his hole so I couldn't recover him. Not sure what happened as I took another shot at the side of the bush hog and it was right on. Bad pellet or just a bad shot on my part. Also shot a pigeon and aton of starlings again. I went thru 16 mags total this morning. Lots of shooting!

I'm loving this Veteran more and more especially since I added the dial and Pappy Yosh's mag holders and check riser.
