Fun and durable targets

Just an FYI on something really fun to shoot at that you might not have considered. Led light bulbs are not glass and the frosted bulb is a really tough plastic that is glued on. https://youtu.be/mYBDjbzQ4JQ This is a little video of how to get the globe off the light, but the plastic is amazingly tough so a .177 RWS Superdome out of my HW95 or BAM B40 don’t penetrate but they are really noisy when hit and the reaction is pretty remarkable also. Much more fun than shooting tennis balls, so if you have a led light bulb that dies, don’t just throw it away.

Another fun target is plastic soda bottles. They make more noise than cans and last longer. I take a short piece of rebar and drive it into the ground and leave enough exposed to support an upside down cola bottle and it makes for a fun and noisy target.

The hollow plastic practice golf balls are fun too. They fly off when struck. I also have the foam golf balls on thin spring steel rods. They sway back and forth when struck and if you're fast enough, you can try shooting at them in motion.

If you like can size targets, try the frozen juice containers from Wallyworld. They are made froma plastic similar to a bicycle water bottle, so they self heal a little and last 10 times as long as the thin bottles or cans.
