Full Review: Brocock Compatto

Nothing fancy, just my thoughts on the gun after several hundred rounds and several sessions out with it. It's already put a fair amount of nutters in the freezer, and taken a dozen or so sparrows out of the gene pool.

Just for fun, I included some comparisons to the Marauder. Not the same price class or style of gun, but the Marauder still holds its own.

Very nice review. I have a Compatto in .22 cal. It is my first PCP air gun. I have had a break barrel Crossman Nitro piston .177 cal. for several years Many squirrels have met their maker due to this rifle. Also a few rabbits. All in my back yard. I wanted to step up to .22 cal. and I wanted multi shot capability. No one in my area stocks PCP rifles and I wanted to see, feel, smell, etc, etc, before I bought, so mail order was out. Found Precision Air Guns here in Michigan. Drove the 90 miles one way to look and came home with the Compatto. I agree with every thing said in this review. I really like the "holes" in the butt stock, as they make this very easy to carry.

Thanks for the review. I'm seriously considering getting a Compatto in .22. I have a Daystate Air Wolf MCT Tactical .25 with full Huggett and am attracted by the Compatto's Daystate lineage and use of the Harper Slingshot hammer/valve on the Gen 2 updated version, owner reports of excellent accuracy out of the LW barrel, as well as the included Huggett ;)

@Clyde I'm looking for my first pcp and seems that the Compatto has about everything (almost) I want, but have a couple of questions if you would be so kind. I'm really stuck on .22, and want to know how accurate yours is? Also, how many good shots do you get out of a fill? & lastly, is it hand pump friendly? I'm looking to shoot small game to no more than 40 yards.

I'm not Clyde, but it'll easily do what you want.

He'll have to answer # of shots per fill.

But I can tell you about pumping. It's a little harder to pump than a Marauder with its stock tune for a 2500 psi fill. The air tube is smaller, but it needs significantly more pressure. They say 200 bar (2900 psi) max, but if you look at the shot string, it is clearly tuned for a higher fill pressure than 200 bar, as the shots start declining immediately. Airgun Depot "has it on good authority" that it's OK to pump higher, I forget the exact figure. Check their YouTube video for confirmation. I fill it to 3200 psi now with good results.

For reference, it's a LOT easier to pump than my regulated Hammerli 850, with its .29L tank shot down to 1100 psi, and about the same as my S510, which only needs 200 bar.

Hey Smaug, thanks for the input. My main issue with pumping is, I literally have no reference. Have only pumped bicycle tires. I have a springer, have learned a lot, but want a PCP now. Was looking REALLY hard at the Streamline. But got swayed away by fill press. & while I can afford the rifle, I can't afford a tank, and a rifle, and a...... not yet anyway. So the Compatto looked attractive. Thanks again.
