FT type stock for a RedWolf?

Does anyone know of a builder for a FT style stock? I'm thinking along the lines of the aluminum FWB/Anschutz models? Unfortunately I purchased a Rosso right here on the classifieds (great interaction with the seller, not his fault) that showed up with a broken stock in shipping. It has now been over a month in claims and appeals with USPS. I have two Rosso's that have been sharing one stock just to make some use of it. I have reached out to Daystate and others who say there are no more Rosso stocks available period. I will be at the Shot Show next month and hope to plead my case in person.

So, can I make lemonade by building it similar to FT? I would be interested in generally any custom stock that would not be cost prohibitive and may make it cool again.

Any Ideas?

The Gary Cane stocks are artwork for sure but I am hoping to find something stateside. I can't imagine the hoops to jump through if there were fitment issues.

I just finished a transaction with Gary Cane and could fill you in on the process...

Yes please, share anything you can here including pictures, time, overall satisfaction and cost so we can all benefit. Feel free to PM me anything else.

Gary Cane is international. His designs are known world-wide, and this is one of the driving factors that led me to place my order. That and the fact I could not find anyone stateside who could make what I wanted in a FT stock.

First and foremost, the stock was not cheap, I was originally quoted 700 GBP plus 113 GBP shipping. This was for a FT Stock in Grade 2 Walnut or Laminate (any colour we use and stock) with adjustable cheek piece, adjustable hamster with accessory rail and Black Wegu adjustable butt pad. To get placed in line for the build, a 45% - 50% down payment was due up front. I placed my order in late May, and production was to start in September.

They send you a pdf that explains the simple measurements that they need for the build, generally length of pull and a full size outline trace of your shooting hand.

My rifle was a Gen1 Benjamin Marauder, a rifle that is not very popular overseas. That meant Gary Cane did not have any history to go on, so they required detailed info on the inletting for the build. Instead of giving them the dimensions, I shipped them a spare stock to use as a master. Cost was $68 for a slow boat shipping option. Gary Cane had to pay the Import tax, which was added into the final price of the design... Did I mention that this build was not cheap?

During the process you will be conversing with Jane, the point of contact, and you will be hashing out the details. I changed my butt pad to a butt hook, that had to be paid for up front. They have all of the connections in the UK to get the "good stuff" so to speak. Jane is wonderful to work with, and very prompt with emails.

Around early October they emailed me to finalize the design, and lock in my selections. That meant the build was getting close to starting, albeit a month later than expected.

They let me know in November that my stock was in process, and coming along on schedule. When it was close I asked for a sneak peek image, and Jane sent me this image (week of Nov 14):

Jane let me know what the balance of the order, so that I could the remaining funds in place. One week later, Jane sent me a bill for the balance the week of December 13, as well as a pic of the stock prior to packaging:

The stock was shipped December 13, and arrived this past Monday. Before UPS could bring the stock to my door, I had to pay Import tax of $123!!!

I have not yet opened the box, which contains my FT stock and the original Marauder stock... I figured that I waited 7-months, one more week would not hurt.

If you have read all of this, you probably made up your mind, and decided this is not the route for you... just know that they may already have a design for the Red Wolf, and you will not need to incur all of the costs like I did with my Marauder. Email them and ask...

A couple quick notes; the stock is pillar bedded, and for the most part, the stock is completely free-floated from just in front of the pressure gauge to the forend of the stock. There was about 20-second of Dremel work, and the action dropped right in.

Woos grain for days:

The arrow indicates where the free float begins... essentially the action is ever so slightly bedded.
