Front sight solutions for Sheridian Blue streak?

I have a possible 40s Sheridian Blue Streak (no tapped receiver for peep sight)

The front sight is broken off at the blade with just a wee bit left. The seals are out as it holds air but when I cock the bolt, she lets it out the barrel. Been putting transmission fluid and letting it hold air for a few hours.

I wanna fix her up, as compared to my Benjamin Franklin that was in a far nicer state, seems this one truly needs to be serviced.

any veteran airgunners have any advice on how to breath some life back into this old champ?

That's a nice find. I believe it's a much more recent make, though. The rear sight mount indicates that it's a later than mid-sixties model. The wide forearm does as well. It's hard to pin down the exact year made without more pictures. Seals for it are available, but you'll need a special tool to install them.

You might try an alcohol flush to clean the insides. You'll find how with a search. You might be able to solder on more material for a front sight. Either that or grind it down a little and mechanically attach a blade.

Your Streak is much later than the 40's. It has the clip-on rear sight introduced in 1972, which means it should have a 6-digit serial number on the left side just below the plastic handguard that would give a better idea of its date.
For the sight, the best option is likely to file the remaining portion flat, fabricate a suitable shape blade, and solder it on.

Maybe find some like plastic / aluminum or whatever and good strong epoxy and shape up and glue in a blade . ??

Flatten the base of the front as even as possible, then go to the gun store where they be some of those luminscent front sights that are the rage now.
They make them or all types of guns; rifles, pistols and shotguns.
If grooves are needed the resident gunsmith can cut the grooves for you.

Indeed, there was another but that one was most definitely unfixable but I should have asked for $20 and he’d probably take it

You may be on to something! Ill go out at look for some front sights like that (hopefully shotgun ones that usually are already flat on the bottom)
