Front Rest

Someone posted a link to some more affordable front rests that get the job done. I don't want to spend $1400 on the NOTA but I would like to have something comparable but less expensive. I'm hoping to get in a few competitions in the near future and I would like to start using a better rest than my bag. :)

What kind of rest do you use?

oops, if this is in the wrong place, admin plz move.

Yep. And with that $80 back screw upgrade it comes in around $200 plus shipping. I wish I could look at one up close. Just want to make sure it does what I want it to before I spend the money.
I saw someone recommend one that was about $600 that looked a lot like the Nota with a joystick that adjusted the elevation and windage. Anyone remember what that one was called?

I have a Bald Eagle rest. With the windage cable gone it's actually a pretty good rest. That rear elevation screw looks great.
I have a JJ that costs upwards of $1000 that I use for competition and I would say the Bald Eagle is 75-80% as good as the JJ.

Crusher, if you get one, you won't be disappointed. Get the cast iron sling shot model.

The addition of the Speed Screw made the height adjustment a onehand procedure with no lock nut to fumble with it and a $165 rest behave like a $600 one. On the bald eagle it only works with the aluminum model. For the cast you need to tap new threads. The one I used has 3/8"x16 threads goes right in the aluminium model without alterations. They also offer another with 1/2"x20 threads. One great thing is when you get from them they have an unconditional guarantee, they will take it back if you don't like it. They have customer service that is great.
