I've got a lawn chair set up in the field near this brush pile. After 5 the guys leave and the squirrels come out to raid the fields. Unless I'm on the job, that is! That's how I earn my vegetables, livin' the dream Even if I don't see a varmint I consider it time well spent, just sitting still and watching.
Stoti-I'm in Santa Barbara County. Wind has been brutal the last 3 days with gusts to 30mph. Mornings are calmer but if there's much farm activity the wary squirrels stay put.
Here's a few more- Glen I envy your manicured yard, looks inviting!
I like your style, excellent write up with pictures, yes you are "living the dream".
I can almost taste those berries, the farmer is lucky to have you on the job.
I don't know what rifle you have, but it has a beautiful stock,
I to utilize a semi concealed shooting position for my nightly rat elimination adventures at my firewood stacks. I enjoy sitting and listening to the night, there is a lot going on if you can be still and just soak it in.
Thank you, John. Its a labor of love. But, as you can see from the backdrop, it is wooded and therefore brings fox, squirrel, deer, chipmunk, rats, mice, voles, woodchuck, racoon, opossum, etc...
Beautiful pictures. I love it down there. It's been windy up here too. We're going after digger squirrels at Lake Pillsbury tomorrow morning, Hopefully there won't be any wind. Have a good one. Stoti
