Freaking woodchuck heaven! #20 !

Sitting here looking for # 17 this year and just had to share some pics...got out here kinda late today but I'm confident I'll be able to update this post later. Saw 3 right in here leaving yesterday! The big old grand river is just 20 yards behind me....

Guess I jinxed myself!!! Lol.

Had one come out at 150yds and would not hold still and then the planter showed up to put in the corn crop. So now I have about 3 weeks at this location before its to tall to see them anymore. Busy today but will be out there bright and early tomorrow morning.

Bubble, not yet but man I'm working on it! I did a walk around this 80 acres the other day and counted 47 different holes !!! Crazy isn't it?

So did you get to #19? See three kill three!

Well I sort of took your advice! #17 and 18.

Saw 3 shot 3 but only recovered 2. Also recovered the slug from one at 52 yards shot in the back of the neck clipping his spine and lodged in his throat. 34 grain big hollow point with dimpled base...varmint knockers of course! At 64 fpe...

 NIce james!

With woodchucks, you have to count them as “gotten” if you are sure you hit them hard. They have to be by far the hardest thing to recover. Toughness of a squirrel, with a deep hole to dive into.

If Im having fun or sure i can make the headshot I will, but when I really need one gone? One in the chest, and I know hes dead but hidden. Ill take that in my fields :)

Cool slug recovery, did you eat him ?

(I will get someone to try it) lol But Im tellin ya its mega squirrel! Great chili!

Hit the 3rd one solid at 130 yards standing looking right at me. Center mass and flipped him backwards but made it to his hole about 6 feet away...could hear the thump loud and clear.

The young ones are the best eating and I saw a couple today but they wouldn't hold still...still plenty of time to get a couple for the pot. Rain for the next several days so might be slow going for a few...

Nice job on the chucks. Our family farm is both cash crop and produce. While a dozen family members were planting the produce plants Sunday morning, I counted 7 chucks in the soybean field along the creek. I am still in a sling and can’t do much but watch them. Been practicing shooting my air pistols left handed. Might bring out my .17 HMR single six. If I can get witching 30 yards or so I might have a chance. Seen a couple more back at the pond. They like to hole up under the shed back there. Makes for a nice 75 to 100 yard shot across the pond.

Sounds like I need to come for a visit!

Maybe Could set up the Veteran on the bipod and give it try south paw....lol.

James from Michigan,

Trust me. I have been thinking of taking the Badger and stix out. I have tried shooting the Flashpup left handed. But with out much success. I think I would need my .223. Hard to flop around trying to get set up with the stix with out being seen. Maybe I can shoot from the barn peek window. Still enough straw in the mow to sit up there comfortably. Maybe we can get together after I heal up. Never did get to shoot Yotes last winter.

Yes sir I'm still game...

I have a two week layoff for change over starting July 1 and I'm going to be slinging lead. Headed to my brother's place tomorrow morning to set up on some yotes!

He says there is a den about 75 yards from my deer hunting shack with fresh tracks all over the place. Few chucks running around too...put new batteries in my predator call this morning so I'm ready and pumped for tomorrow....third shift kinda sucks but let's me get out there in the mornings...lol.

Chippers and red squirrels been visiting my deck. They come to eat silver maple Helecoptors that have fallen. No idea where they keep coming from. Got 4 reds and 3 chippers today. Must be the rain is plumping up the seeds and critters can’t resist them. Not bad for shooting them left handed with a PP700. Won’t mention how many times I missed.
