Foxy is Here!

Wow.. I think we have a winner here. My Wildcat came in the mail today. After dinner tonight, and after I had wiped off all the drool, I went out in the dark to see if I could at least get the scope close with the driveway lights. I tried to set up in that dim light for 8 shots and got it within an inch or so.
After I put the truck headlights on target and a new mag, it took 3 shots to get it tight, then I shot this 5 shot group. Wait until I can see the cross hairs clearly tomorrow.
Also think I might already have the name. She is Fox Grey and very sexy looking. Jimi Hendrix was playing “Foxy Lady” on the radio while I was shooting. So I think the name may be Foxy.
I know you have all seen a Wildcat before. But THIS one is mine.
I think this is going to be a very loving relationship :)

And this grey laminate is just beautiful.

"mxnamvar"Very nice - congrats. Assume there is no weight difference between the laminate and the synthetic... Do you happen to know?

Got these numbers from Mick-VA:Black and Gray Laminate = 2 lbs and 0.2 ouncesBlack Soft Touch Synthetic = 1 lb 9 ounces

So the laminate it 7 ounces heavier. But it I think it is worth it for the look of the gun, for me.

As for the sound, it is a little louder than my Marauder 25 but not something I can't still use in the back yard. I might go with the Huggett a little down the road, but I need to hear one and be sure it is really making that much difference. I might just try putting one more stack-able on and see what happens.
Tomorrow I'll get some chrono readings with the 25 and the 34's. Sounds like it is shooting the 25's really hot. Like maybe 940-ish. I'll also get some db readings so I have some idea on the noise level. She might quieten down a bit with a heavier pellet or maybe with some tuning. But I don't intend to change anything until I get a couple hundred rounds down range and give things a chance to settle in.
And one other thing, the target AoA sent me with the gun to prove they test fired it has a 5 shot group all in one hole the size of one pellet at 20 yards. Sweetness!

And for the name, not 100% settled on Foxy, but it sure seems to fit. She is a sexy little beast. And I'm sure it had a little bit to do with Jimi swimming "all around my brain".

Ok, a few numbers. I find that the WC is a bit louder than my Marauder, and a lot louder than my Royale. The Marauder is 86 db @ 2 meters. The WC is 91 db @ 2 meters. That tells me a moderator is in order.
Next, this gun (not broken in) doesn't seem to shoot the 34's as well as I'd like it to. They fly @ 825 fps. But more time will tell. The 34's also have a down and to the left POI shift from the 25's. They are all in the same hole though. I was hoping the shift would be just a vertical thing. Not sure why it is going slightly left. Maybe some more break-in time will solve that.
It is shooting the 25's @ 925 avg. (48.27 fpe) with an SD = 1.2 over 16 shots. Wow. How? That is amazing. I shot 2-8 round mags in a row. Both showed spread of 3 fps. This is a really good regulator setup. And I bet it gets better as it breaks in, although I don't see how it can improve much on the numbers.

They said 40 shots, you get 40 shots. Right on the money before it dropped off the reg and started shooting 890's with the 25's.

The WC being shorter has the feel of a couple of my powder burners in that it feels very "point and shoot". It shoulders very nicely, has good balance and feels very stable in freehand stance.
My one disappointment is not the gun's fault. The beautiful Lam stock arrived with a scratch. Bummer. I'll call AoA and see if they want to do anything about it. Maybe ship me another one? We'll see.

Now to drive over to the DonnyFl site and see what I need. Do I just get the Sumo moderator alone? Or do I need some adapter to make it fit?
Also need to install my mag holders (Thanks Matt. They look great!)

I think you also need the adaptor from Donny, but not 100% sure. When you unscrew the end cap from the gun barrel shroud, is the end shorter than the air tube? And does it have the 1/2"x20 male threads? If no threads, or if the end after cap removal is shorter than the air tube, you'll need the adaptor. I needed one for my .30 Bobcat. The Sumo should do the trick and make your Cat quieter than the Marauder...
