**Found**PARD Thermals

I have the SA32/19 which has the 19mm optic lens and is great for the short-range use I intended it for - primarily ratting. If you are going to go after game that is more of a distance with your Texan, I would suggest the 35mm lens which is right at your price point (with LRF). It will give you a lot better definition in that 50-100 range for hogs or coyotes. My PARDS have worked reliably. The LRF with BC has always been correct for me. Documentation sucks, but they aren't the only one!

You are looking at a 384k scope in your price range. I have a 640k that I use for the longer range night hunting that there is a large difference in target definition than the 384k with the small lens, but the prices start getting much higher with them.

I think there are a lot more posts in this section if you search for them that will give you a wide range of opinions from use from other members.

Appreciate the information, I am fairly new to the whole night hunting thing. I started with NV and having only gone a few times I did get two yotes but that was with my .308 powder burner. Those shots were at 100 and 120 yds.

@AlabamaLarry You may want to check this thread as well.

UK Airgun forums have a wealth of knowledge on these units. Those guys seem to be way ahead us with using this sort of gear.

my opinion having used pards and atns is i much prefer an atn, and i have both 4kpro nv and a thor4 384 and a couple of pard clipons .. it really depends on the exact scenario on which i would choose, but a couple things - i tend to do all night steak-outs and monitoring a thermal is harsh + its not always easy to tell what exactly your looking at ... the pards i have, the main issue is controls, it feels like i got to fudge with 15 things for every change of target area .. the atn nv now, thats what i usually like to use, and if i was monitoring something way out, say 80+, id just use a bigger torch like a sniper pro hog light .. so yeah, id say that and a 4k pro is gonna be my choice of setup 'over' a bargain-end thermal ... id say if you want to beat that setup with a thermal your gonna be north of 3500$, think 640 40x .. there is the logistical issue of the torch, extra batts, seperate mounting like a tripod for it, but thats pretty minor once ur rolling ... cheaper and better in the price range, even with the better torch, my opinion
