Found a surprise today out on the farm.

This little guy was in the middle of my squirrel farm today. He has made a burrow in one of my honey holes. Guess I am going to have to find another honey hole! Badgers are no joke. I don't carry a big enough airgun to take this one, even if I wanted to. 

I don't want to. He is helping me with the squirrel problem. He can have that corner of the farm as his. It's a good reminder to watch yourself out there. There are wild things living right next door, even in the suburbs.
 
I agree with you on the badger thing. Once in Idaho I went out for ground squirrel with a 22 mag rim fire. WELL, in my explorations for the ground squirrel I come around a corner and there is a badger. We stare at each other and I was the one who blinked. LOL, the badger went into the sage brush and I thought, 22 mag not enough gun and it has almost 10xs the power of my 25 cal Taipan.

Lucky you! I’ve never seen one in person. When I zoomed in I couldn’t help but notice that this guy has that “Go away! I’m taking a poop” mixed with a “My mother gave me this haircut” look on his face.

I run across them fairly often at work, on the BLM and ranch land that I patrol. This is in the middle of a sub-suburban area of .5 to 2 acre lots.

8 months back a also found and played with a stoat. We played peek-a-boo for several minutes. I am still looking for a re-match with that little clown.

Let's see what the new season brings out.
