Personally, I've never owned an Air Arms, but I am eager to get my paws on one.

And BSA, Brockcock, Phoenix (Parker Hale), Theoben and Ripley."Kev"@ddransomi...now I can shoot in backyard out to 75 yards and my wife doesn't even know it unless you crack sound barrier with light pellet with power cranked up.
Deja the Britt AG mags do have good photographs except for their continuing articles on eating feral pigeons or how to clean a squirrel. They do make great airguns though as exhibited by Air Arms and Daystate.
That's pretty much all reviewers these days but luckily for us we can balance the overly optimistic Willy Wonka reviews with real world experiences and reviews from my sites like this. If a gun isn't as good as the reviewers said then it usually doesn't take very long for us to hear all about it (many, many times)."Deja"That article is from a magazine and I get 4 diff rent British airgun magazines in a app called Readly. a bit like spotify / netflix but for magazines.
They are fun to read but the reviews are kinda wonky, one they never ever say anything bad about any product, even more so when its British made.
Two its all 12 foot pound versions, and thats not really relevant to us that will get the full power version. Hammer springs will be stiffer, none optimised speeds. Usually lacking in there off. Hell the new brocock bantam comes without the hammer sling system in .25. List goes on.
As I said, those guns are not bad (far from it). It's just that some people have gotten used to significantly greater efficiency in that price range. I am getting 48 shots from my Mutant Shorty and that has a tiny reservoir. People with the Mutant standard are getting more than 60 shots."ddransoml"The .22 isn't too shabby on air consumption either...I'm getting 30 solid shots...I'm fine with that being unregulated.
@kev...does your's whistle when you fill it from a tank?
Very nice rifle!
I've never understood why certain brands have different prices based on the caliber. Air Arms uses LW barrels which are the same price in any caliber. It's not like they give the 22 a larger reservoir or a larger mag. They use the same materials and just give it fewer shots."Kev"@Zebra...that's why I went for .177 in S510. A zillion articles/reviews have been written on the S510s, which have a reputation for being trouble free. The Ultimate Sporter stock and the Q-tec moderator really elevated this platform.
A lack of regulator is not an issue in .177 because with power wheel set a third of the way you still get great accuracy at 50 yds and over 50 shots. Air consumption is minimal . You are only filling to 2900 psi max. The .177 version is also $200 cheaper than the other calibers. All in all it's just fun to shoot.
They are both great options. They both have pros and cons so it's really a personal preference thing."ddransoml"@Dairyboy...so you'd suggest Mutant over Wildcat?
