Ok so I'm reaching out to members who have actually traded airguns on the classifieds before with other members. I'm trying to see what constitutes a good trade. I'd like to hear some stories of guys who've traded before. The reason I'm asking is because I have a Gen 2 Vulcan.25 and I'm seriously considering trading for something I've been wanting to try but haven't had the money to outright buy it. If possible I would be happy trading my Vulcan.25 for an FX Wildcat.25, FX Bobcat .25 MKll, FX Verminator.25 MKll, Daystate Wolverine MCT .22 or .25, Daystate Air Ranger tactical .22 or .25, FX Impact.22 or .25, RAW HM1000x .25 or .30, EdGun Matador R3M .25, or possibly a few other style FX or Daystate guns or even a Kalibergun Cricket.25 synthetic stock. So I'd appreciate if you guys could share your experiences and stories. I know some of the guns I mentioned cost more than my Vulcan.25 Bullpup but I would throw in extras to make up the difference such as the bipod and my aftermarket custom made shroud plus factory shroud of course or even pay the difference depending on condition of the traders gun and age.

I haven't traded but I've bought one gun on this board and bought and sold a bunch on another. A good trade, like a good sale, is one in which both parties are satisfied with the trade. I've been happy with every sale or purchase I made from another airgunner. I've found airgunners to be as friendly, honest people. I'd ask whoever you are trading with to rate their item.Getting people to honestly evaluate the condition of the equipment is key. Some people think that just because they've owned something that its a grade or two higher than it should be. I like to use AoA's condition scale http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/Used%20Condition%20Definitions.html But I'll say it again that I've never had this problem with an airgunner. Beyond that, your approach is excellent. You are willing to pay more for upgrade and should feel comfortable to ask for more if you downgrade. The only thing I would caution about is customizations. They aren't all created equal. A home made shroud may not be of the same quality as one made by someone like Neil. Best of luck with your trade!

Thanks I ended up trading my Vulcan.25 BP for an FX Wildcat.25 which I received today and so far the gun seems to be working great and in overall excellent condition. My only hang up was I thought I had a pair of 30mm dovetail scope rings but only had 1in. so I haven't been able to sight the gun in and test for accuracy but I just ordered a dovetail to weaver adapter and am having it over nighted to me so hopefully I'll be able to report back on accuracy tomorrow or at the latest Saturday. I made an unboxing video but it was to long to upload on my photo bucket so I uploaded it to YouTube and am waiting on it to be posted then I'll post the link here.

Haunted couldn't have said it better...

a good trade/sale is accomplished when both parties walk away happy.

I haven't traded here, but have bought and sold and was happy (as were the other parties involved) and that made me feel good.

do what you feel will make you happy. I had a gentleman pay me almost 3x's my asking price on some colonial pottery AND flew in from New York to Seattle to get the deal done and he couldn't have been happier. He didn't want the set split up and made sure it didn't happen by offering WAY over market value.

Edit: didn't read you made the trade. Congrats! Glad you are happy so far. That's a righteous rifle in my book!
