I feed my compressor 10psi nitrogen and fill rifles directly. No moisture, no problems.
Moisture corrodes the aluminum and over time and likely severe moisture you'll have a failure. I'm pretty sure that at least some of the very few ruptures reported, were traced to moisture corrosion of the aluminum. I have an aliminum rifle cyl that looks corroded inside and I won't use it or sell it. I will destroy it at some point, just keep it to show what to look for.
