For All Blair County Area Springer Shooters

I live in Altoona and shoot at the indoor Double Tap Range. The upstairs archery range offers shoothing up to 25 yards. There is a once a week 10 meter springer benchrest match in East Freedom at Three Valley Sportsmen. I belong there and shoot that match. Good group of guys and great winter fun. I would like to get something started in Altoona at Double Tap this winter but shooting out to 25 yards. Springer only off the bench. If your interested get back to me with your name, email, and phone number. We can put our heads together and come up with good ideas. We could shoot a weekly match or once a month. We have a great range we have been offered to utilize. Let's take advantage. Jeff Gates

Of what. If your referring to the Three Valley match what a stupid idea. I joined the club and recruited 3 other shooters to attend it. Get a life. Other than that I would like additional match opportunities and have the offer of a 25 yard beautiful facility. So what have you done to help the sport recently. You disgust me and you represent the sport poorly.

I take it he thinks because I want to start another match that I am jealous of the existing one. If I am wrong I will apologize, but have had no response. When I read his comment and thought it meant what I just stated, I saw RED. I shoot various centerfire matches at quite a few clubs, I join them just to support them, I help with two matches and with my wife put on another monthly match. Almost impossible to get a commitment from shooters to help run a match every month. Everyone wants to shoot but let someone else do the work. I won a 1000yd steel match today. It is the last one ever. The fellow running it runs another match with the additional duties of club president. He had to give something up. Big club, lots of members, lots of money....No one will take over the match. It's done now. So if I interpreted the comment wrong and he reaches out I will apologize. If I read it correctly, my comments stand. I hope I was wrong, I was shocked when I read it. Shoot safe.

I looked at member profiles, beerthief is somewhere in KY, and Jeffppc is in Pa. Possibly beerthief has no such place to shoot and has reason to be jealous or envious.

I am in semi rural E Texas and the only place to shoot airguns is my backyard, for powder burners my range membership is at a range 50 miles one way and I know of no rifle competitions some action pistol type competions though

When I retired my wife and I almost moved to Idaho. My son and family live there, his choice after 24 years in the Air Force. The deciding factor for me was no type of competitive shooting less than an 8 hr drive and that was only 1 place. I knew as much as I enjoyed it there I would end up unhappy, I like competition. This past weekend was great. I shot a 1000 gr8 steel match and won. On top of that the last shot was at the 4 inch tie breaker (if needed)
Plate and I center punched it, fun day. On Sunday I shot a 400 yard paper match, shot a 98x100, and won. That's a good weekend, winning over 200.00. Even paid for the ammo.
