Fly shooters anonymous

In the pic with clearly obvious fly remains both halves were still twitching several minutes after their JSB encounter. It's quite a foot pound adventure for them...
Distance = 13 yards
Fly Weight = 17 mg
Pellet Weight = 680 mg (10.5grain)
The pellet is 40 times their weight travelling at 477 mph. Ouch.
* Bait is either peanut butter and chocolate and / or jam

It’s a shame you wast beer for a fly, but it sounds like fun.

It was a worthy and worthwhile sacrifice! Some of those guys wouldn't donate any beer until at the very last of the remains of the can.

We had a funny one when I attempted to splash beer on the box and for some reason it'd splash high and left and miss the whole box, LOL, Not letting my target get the best of me I adjusted the POI to center by aiming low right 😂

Yeah we had to vote which of the splats on the box was the biggest. So far we don't have the rather large flies coming in that make the 1" sized splats but later this spring they'll arrive.

Wood bees or hornets would make good splats!

Great comments and pics there fellow, as Johnny says, FlyAholics!

John, the guy that owns the place, burned his box from last year because it was so Grody, lol. It had gotten to the point that it was hard to see the flies unless they moved because of all the holes and splatter.

That's AWESOME , @JohnnyPDX !

What fun!

My wife and I would shoot wasps for hour when we lived down in the city. She used an FWB 65 mostly, and I used an RWS Mod 10. The wasps would land on the grass and crawl down into it to get the dead stuff to make their paper nests. We had a 1 or 2 second window if we followed them to the landing point and then when they crawled back up, they would pause before taking off. We shot so many one day that we didn't dare walk in the yard barefoot for a couple of days. I hate wasps.

We shot a lot of flies there, as well. Fun Times !

Killing wasps is a contribution to all.

I hate them!
